Facebook Cover Photo Rules
Are you breaking the Facebook cover photo rules and guidelines? Many are without even realizing it. With the roll out of the Facebook Timelines, Facebook also modified their terms to include terms for what is allowed on your Facebook cover photo. We recently changed our Facebook Timeline Cover Photo App to exclude the ability to add links so it abides by these rules.

Covers may not include:
i. price or purchase information, such as “40% off” or “Download it on socialmusic.com”;
ii. contact information such as a website address, email, mailing address, or information that should go in your Page’s “About” section;
iii. references to Facebook features or actions, such as “Like” or “Share” or an arrow pointing from the cover photo to any of these features; or
iv. calls to action, such as “Get it now” or “Tell your friends.”
Rather than trying to place promos and call to action information in your cover photo, we highly suggest you create focused
Timeline Page Tabs. You have more control on what you place in page tabs and can point your fans and new visitors to your individual landing tabs.
Also leverage the about section in your Timeline to include your contact information and website link. The about section displays directly under your Timeline photo on the main Timeline wall.
